Fun wagon for the money
By snoopy | on Thursday, March 08, 2018
After reading many expert reviews on the Imprezas acceleration, the first thing I tried out was its get up and go. Not only was I impressed with its acceleration from a complete stop, but also its ability to pass vehicles on the highway going up hill. Having traded in a late model Cadillac with a V8 engine, I feel confidant in driving the Impreza with comfort, not only in the City but also on the highway.… - 3.0
Subaru needs to add more value
By Nick | on Wednesday, August 26, 2020
I've had my 2019 Subaru Impreza Hatch (limited trim) for nearly a year - and each time I drive the car, I unfortunately feel like I could have gotten more for my money. Sure the standard all-wheel drive is great, the Impreza looks nice (very subtle), and the interior quality is solid, but other than all-wheel drive and the Subaru badge, the Impreza doesn't offer much. I'm now speaking in terms of the limited trim level (I realize I should have probably picked the premium trim level instead of what I chose). I feel Subaru needs to work on it's packaging for it's vehicles. The main upgrades for the limited trim level are different rims, LED headlights (which are not on other trims - note other manufacturers offer them standard after the base-level), and leather. And that's about a $6,000 difference from the base level. If I wanted a better audio system, sun roof, blind spot monitoring, navigation, those would all be EXTRA upgrades that cost thousands of dollars (and yes, I understand things like navigation are always extra). Note, this is in addition to getting the "top-level" trim of this car. Other vehicles seem to offer significantly more for the same price (or less). It's important to factor in all-wheel drive, but I feel Subaru relies to heavily on this, and customers end up spending significant amounts of money and do not get as much (at least in upper-trim levels). For future, it would be great if blind-spot monitoring came standard on at least the limited trim level, as well as a more premium sound system. The Preffered package (third trim level up) on the new Mazda3 offers more than the limited (highest trim level) for the Subaru Impreza. The Impreza also needs more horse power and torque. I'm no car enthusiast, but this seems like a huge issue for the vehicle for many years. Unfortunately nowadays, consumers are expecting more for the higher costs of cars. I feel Subaru is behind in packing additional value into it's vehicles. I'm a young buyer, and this is my first car purchase out of university. My main concern was to find a vehicle that I could see myself driving 5+ years from now. The Impreza, because of it's known reliability, was thar vehicle. I do like the vehicle, but after living with it for a year, I realize I should not have gotten the limited trim level as it doesn't offer much for the price.…
