Road to Giving: Supporting Newhouse
Helping Survivors of Domestic Violence Rebuild Their Lives
At Lee’s Summit Honda, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve. That’s why each quarter, we partner with a different local nonprofit to help raise awareness, resources, and support for their mission. For January through March, we are proud to once again support Newhouse, Kansas City’s first domestic violence shelter and one of the only ones in the area offering services for the entire family.
This marks our second partnership with Newhouse, and during our last Road to Giving campaign, our customers and community helped us raise an incredible $12,091.77. We are grateful for the impact that made—and excited to work toward raising even more this quarter.
Why Newhouse?
Newhouse is more than a shelter — it’s a haven of healing. Their trauma-informed care model helps survivors break the cycle of domestic violence by providing not only safe housing but also mental health services, case management, education, and economic empowerment programs. Every donation and act of support goes directly toward creating real change in the lives of women, children, and families.
How You Can Help
From now until March 31st, every customer has the opportunity to contribute.
- Vehicle Purchases: For every vehicle purchased during this campaign, we will donate $10 to Newhouse.
- Parts & Service Rounding Up: When you visit our Parts or Service Department, you can choose to round up your purchase to the nearest dollar, with all additional proceeds going directly to Newhouse.
- Direct Donations: Click here to donate directly to Newhouse and help us track your impact.
Wish List: Give Essentials Directly
Support families at Newhouse by helping provide the everyday essentials that make a big difference. You can shop from their Amazon Wish List and have items shipped directly to the shelter, or if you already have new, unopened items at home, feel free to drop them off at the Lee’s Summit Honda showroom during business hours—we’ll make sure they’re delivered to Newhouse.

The Worthy Pop-Up Bar
At Lee’s Summit Honda, we’re proud to support Newhouse — Kansas City’s first domestic violence shelter. This March, we’re highlighting the Worthy Pop-Up Bar, happening March 6–7 at The Maverick. This two-night fundraiser celebrates empowerment, self-care, and healthy relationships while raising critical support for survivors in our community.
Guests will enjoy cocktails and mocktails, beer and wine, local food, lounge areas, inspirational messaging, and a welcoming space where everyone belongs.
Special Guest Bartenders
We’re thrilled to share that Brooke Thompson, Marketing Manager for Balderston Auto Group, and Karanne Benton, Executive Manager at Lee’s Summit Honda, will be stepping behind the bar as special guest bartenders. Join them Saturday, March 7 from 4–6 PM for an energetic, can’t-miss shift filled with great drinks, great conversation, and an even greater cause. We’d love to see a strong turnout as they rally support for Newhouse and the vital services it provides to survivors and their families.

Whether you choose to donate, become a sponsor, or purchase tickets to the Worthy Pop-Up Bar, your support helps provide safety, resources, and hope for survivors of domestic violence. When you purchase tickets, you’ll receive an email immediately after checkout prompting you to redeem your ticket. During the redemption process, you can enter “Brooke” or “Karanne” to ensure your ticket purchase is credited toward their fundraising campaigns.
100% of proceeds go directly to the 60+ children and adults living at Newhouse, helping provide emergency shelter, therapy, childcare, legal advocacy, transportation, meals, and more. Every contribution brings us closer to creating a brighter future for the women, children, and families at Newhouse.
